Who we help · Businesses

Help when it happens. Less damage next time.

Most businesses meet a cyber incident with no playbook and no one to call. We respond quickly, work out what happened in plain English and help you get back to work. Then we help make the next incident less likely, and less costly.

Response

15 minutes, 24/7/365

Covers

Any incident, common or unusual

You get

Plain-English findings for leadership

Works with

Your IT provider, insurer and lawyers

Why it matters

The first decisions are the expensive ones.

In the first hours of an incident, a business has to decide who to call, what to switch off, whether to pay and what to tell people. Those decisions set the cost of everything that follows. We help you make them with evidence rather than guesswork, and keep the business moving while we do.

What we provide

Response now, readiness after.

We work with businesses of all sizes, with or without an internal IT team.

Incident response

When something happens, a responder takes the facts, contains the incident and starts working out what happened.

Plain-English findings

A one-page summary for leadership, with the detail behind it for your IT provider, insurer and lawyers.

Working with your providers

We work alongside your IT provider or managed service provider rather than replacing them.

Insurance support

If you hold cyber insurance, we help you meet your insurer’s requirements and give them findings they can act on.

Getting back to work

Recovery starts once the way in is closed, so you don’t have to do it twice.

Readiness work

IR retainers, tabletop exercises, compromise assessments and hardening, so the next incident costs less.

How we work with you

Report

A one-page summary first, with the detail behind it.

Prepare

We help close the gaps so it’s harder next time.

What you get

Clear outputs, not a slide deck.

  • A one-page summary for leadership
  • Clear findings for your insurer and lawyers
  • A prioritised list of what to fix
  • A plan to make the next incident less costly

Right for you if

When we’re a good fit.

  • You don’t have an in-house security team
  • Your IT provider needs specialist incident support
  • You hold cyber insurance and want a responder ready
  • You’ve had a near miss and want to understand it

Questions

Common questions.

Who should we call first when we have a cyber incident?

If money has moved, call your bank first. If you have cyber insurance, follow your insurer’s incident process. Then get specialist help: email response@authene.com.au and a responder replies within 15 minutes, 24/7/365.

We have an IT provider. Do we still need incident response?

Often, yes. Running your systems and investigating an attacker inside them are different jobs, and your IT provider is also needed to keep the business running. We work alongside them.

How much will it cost?

It depends on the incident. After triage we agree what needs answering and give you an estimate before the work grows. Many cyber insurance policies cover incident response, so check your policy. See how pricing works.

Will you explain what happened in plain English?

Yes. Every report starts with a one-page summary written for leadership, with the technical detail behind it for the people who need it.

Do you work with small businesses?

Yes. Email fraud in particular often hits small and medium businesses. The response is scaled to the incident, not the size of the company.
